February Fitness Frenzy at The Woodlake

During February, residents, and staff at The Woodlake independent living, assisted living, and memory care  community commit to 30 minutes of activity every day to raise money for the One Eighty Foundation and Jonnie and Friends Reach for Stars. Learn more about how The Woodlake encourages residents to stay active while making a positive impact on the community where we live, work, and play.

The Woodlake is excited to participate in Leisure Care’s annual February Fitness Frenzy. We are asking all of our residents and employees to be exceptionally active the month to live healthier lives and raise money simultaneously.

All Leisure Care communities are committed to living the Three-Thirds Lifestyle, prioritizing a balanced life focused on family, philanthropy, and work. One way that we live out the Three-Thirds Lifestyle is through the February Fitness Frenzy. We ask friends and family to pledge $0.05 per minute for 30 minutes of physical activity per day. Residents can clock minutes by any activity they enjoy, including walking, swimming, playing Wii, dancing, yoga, PrimeFit classes, biking, and more.

The Woodlake will be splitting funds between Leisure Care’s One Eighty Foundation and Jonnie and Friends Reach for the Stars. This local organization is restoring the Universal Universe playground in Sacramento’s Southside Park. Jonnie and Friends are working closely with the city to bring more accessible features to Sacramento’s largest fully accessible playground, including a merry-go-round that will accommodate children in wheelchairs and all children. Other projects include a braille wall for visually impaired children, a cozy dome for children on the autistic spectrum, and a sensory play wall.
