Fairwinds – Rio Rancho independent living and assisted living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is proud to provide residents access to signature Leisure Care programming, like PrimeFit Wellness. PrimeFit Wellness expands health and wellness beyond the gym and places it a the forefront of everyday community life. From nutritious meals to fitness classes and volunteer opportunities, here, it’s all about practicing wellness and championing proactive fitness.

Every February, residents at Fairwinds – Rio Rancho and other Leisure Care communities around the country, come together to raise funds for the One Eighty Foundation and local nonprofits through active minutes. Residents and staff pledge daily active minutes and receive donations for every minute. Activities include chair yoga, seated volleyball, walks, and other creative physical activities that meet residents where they are to get them where they want to go.

Our residents are seeing the benefits of living with an intentional focus on wellness. A new resident chose to move into Fairwinds – Rio Rancho after years of being a caregiver. She had been so focused on the health of another, her own health started to slip. Since moving into our community eight months ago, she has been eating nutritious meals in our onsite restaurant, attending daily fitness classes, walking regularly, and has shed 36 pounds.
