At Canfield Place, we know it’s a privilege to celebrate our residents and we are thankful for the service and sacrifice of all Veterans. In honor of Veterans Day, we hosted a ceremony of appreciation for those residents who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
On November 11, 2018, Canfield Place residents gathered to celebrate and thank resident Veterans. The appreciation ceremony featured a traditional flag ceremony led by local Beaverton Boy Scout Troupe 162 and a reading of the history of Veterans Day. Following the flag ceremony, resident Veterans shared their stories of service and received a certificate of recognition from Canfield Place.
“Thank you so much for the beautiful ceremony. It was nice to hear all the stories of Veterans and where they served.” – Kathleen Dale
“I loved seeing all the pictures hung up. Some of the men looked so young when they served!” – Gladys Arp
It was an honor to hear their memories and stories. Following the ceremony, family, friends, and staff gathered to enjoy refreshments during a lively social hour.
We are always looking for ways to celebrate our residents and hear more about their life stories, fostering a true sense of community and belonging. We’d love for you to join us for our upcoming holiday events!
