- The Village at Mill Landing
The Village at Mill Landing assisted living and memory care offers a wide range of senior care services, including memory care for seniors living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related form of dementia. Knowing that this is a stressful time for residents and their families, we are here to come alongside you as a trusted resource and partner with you as you and your loved ones navigate the changes that comes with a dementia diagnosis.
The Village at Milll Landing takes an innovative approach to memory care. Our memory care program, Opal, revolves around 7 pillars of wellness, ensuring a comprehensive and holistic approach to care. We celebrate individuality and encourage independence while being readily available to provide assistance and guidance as needed.
We believe that high-quality memory care is achieved through a collaboration of caregivers and medical professionals. To encourage that collaboration and improve the lives of people living with dementia, we are partnering with Lifespan, a trusted resource on senior care, to offer a free, six-week educational program for caregivers called Powerful Tools for Caregivers.
The program will focus on developing the skills and confidence necessary to care for yourself while also caring for others. In the class, caregivers will work to develop a wealth of self-care tools to reduce personal stress, change negative self-talk, more effectively communicate their needs to family members and healthcare providers, and work through difficult emotions while making hard decisions. Every participant will also receive a copy of “The Caregiver Help Book,” developed specifically for this class.
In addition to learning tools and gaining valuable resources for caregiving, the class gives caregivers a chance to connect with others who are on a similar journey.
Classes will meet weekly on Thursdays for six weeks beginning on March 14 from 1:00 – 3:30 pm at The Village at Mill Landing. We ask that participants attend all dates as the information will build from one week to the next. A light lunch will be provided. Please register for this free event no later than March 11 by calling (585) 720-3004.
