For decades, U.S. News and World Report rankings have been a trusted source for consumers in identifying the best hospitals, mutual funds, cars, colleges, nursing homes, and more. For the third consecutive year, U.S. News and World Report has identified the best independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities.
We are proud to have been named among their Best Senior Living communities for the second time – this year as Best Independent Living, Best Assisted Living, and Best Memory Care. Take a closer look at the methodology of the rankings and see how we stacked up!
U.S. News and World Report Best Senior Living Awards
Finding high-quality senior living is becoming increasingly important as today’s older adults continue to redefine retirement. Today’s senior living communities are vibrant places where seniors are empowered and free to design their days in meaningful and purpose-driven ways. As homeownership becomes increasingly burdensome, more seniors and their families are seeking trusted senior living communities that can provide care that protects their privacy and promotes dignity.
“U.S. News provides in-depth information on multiple community types to help potential residents and their families find, in consultation with their doctors as needed, the best place to help meet their needs,” said Zach Adams, senior health data engineer at U.S. News. “Communities that are highly rated excel in making residents feel safe, well cared for, and highly satisfied by the services provided.”
In recognition of the evolution of retirement and senior living and to identify those communities excelling in meeting the needs of today’s older adults, U.S. News and World Report launched their inaugural senior living ratings two years ago. For this year’s awards, consumer satisfaction surveys were given between March 2023 and February 2024, reflecting the viewpoints of more than 200,000 residents in approximately 4,000 senior living communities nationwide. Data points included in the survey included a range of important senior living topics, including,
- The kindness of the staff
- Variety of activities
- Quality of food
- Overall dining experience
- Local transportation services
- Quality of on-site caregiving
