Oregon is known for its stunning landscape, especially as the seasons change. Recently, Canfield Place residents took to the great outdoors with a trip to the Columbia River Gorge to view the cascading Multnomah Falls. Learn more about our outing and how Canfield Place encourages residents to make the most of every day by engaging in vibrant and meaningful community events and activities.

Canfield Place visits Columbia River Gorge

At Canfield Place, we are proud of our activities and programming. Our calendar is engaging and dynamic with activities suggested by our residents! More than a retirement community, we pride ourselves on our hospitality and want our residents to enjoy every day of retirement. Part of life at Canfield Place means getting out and exploring all that the local area has to offer. Our prime location in breathtaking Oregon lends itself perfectly to adventures in the great outdoors.

Per the request of our residents, we took a trip to the Columbia River Gorge, which included viewing the Multnomah Falls and lunch in a nearby historic lodge. Columbia River Gorge is a canyon in the Columbia River, stretching for over 80 miles through the Cascade Mountain Range, forming the border between Washington and Oregon. In the Columbia River Gorge lies Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in the state at 620 feet high. Accessible from the Historic Columbia River Highway our residents enjoyed scenic views of the fall season on our way to the waterfall.
