Fairwinds – Ivey Ranch Supports Local Nursing Student

At Fairwinds – Ivey Ranch senior living in Oceanside, CA, we are committed to serving the community where we live, work, and play. Learn how our independent living and assisted living community is supporting local nursing students through our partnership with Tri-City Medical Center.

Fairwinds – Ivey Ranch residents Stan and Nancy Kukawka have been volunteering at Tri-City Medical Center for 16 years. After moving to Fairwinds, they continued volunteering and introduced residents to various volunteer opportunities as well as to the Auxiliary Scholarship Program, in its 30th year.

Our residents actively volunteer with Tri-City Medical Center by being members of their auxiliary and making knitted baby caps for newborns. The auxiliary raised $75,000 this year and gave 95 nursing students $500 or $1,000 scholarships, depending on where the students were in their studies.

This year, the Fairwinds – Ivey Ranch team sponsored a scholarship and awarded $1,000 to Palomar nursing student Keri Wessmen-Lavelle.
