It’s often said that giving is better than receiving. We believe that to be true at Fairwinds – Spokane and giving back to the community is a priority for our residents and staff throughout the year. In November, our community raised money and food for the 2nd Harvest Food Bank. Learn more about our food drive and how Fairwinds – Spokane independent living and assisted living residents make a difference in the larger Spokane community.
Fairwinds – Spokane Food Drive for 2nd Harvest
2nd Harvest is the leading hunger-relief network in the region. This season, Fairwinds – Spokane came alongside 2nd Harvest to feed the hungry and homeless in Spokane.
Our employees volunteered with 2nd Harvest on two occasions in November. First, our team sorted through 3,000 pounds of beans and then on another occasion they donated time at Tom’s Turkey Drive.
Our residents went to volunteer at Transitions bake sale and homeless shelter. They put together goodie bags for the homeless shelters with items off their most needed list. We all attended the bake sale and items purchased went to Transitions, a local homeless shelter. Residents delivered the goodie bags after the bake sale.
Being involved in the local community is important to residents and staff at Fairwinds – Spokane. We embrace volunteer opportunities as a way that not only improves the lives of those in Spokane but also enhances the quality of life for residents and staff here in our community.
We would love for you to join us at our next philanthropic event! Call us or stop by today to learn how you can join us on our mission to give back to Spokane.
