New SilverSneakers Program at Fairwinds Redmond

PrimeFit, a nationally branded program and leader in senior fitness and wellness exclusive to Leisure Care communities, makes staying in shape fun! Now, residents will enjoy even more options with the addition of SilverSneakers.

A Focus on Fitness at Fairwinds Redmond

Fairwinds Redmond is always looking for ways to keep our residents active and healthy. Our newest fitness initiative is called SilverSneakers. Open to members of 60+ Medicare plans, including Humira, Aetna, and Amerigroup, SilverSneakers members have access to pools, free weights, cardio equipment, and group fitness classes and thousands of locations nationwide – including classes right here at Fairwinds Redmond!

This group fitness class moves members through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Fairwinds Redmond will offer two types of SilverSneakers classes. SilverSneakers Classic is designed to increase muscle strength and range of movement. SilverSneakers Stability will help residents get stronger and improve balance, focusing on exercises that strengthen the ankle, knee, and hip joints – all in a fun and social setting! The classes will use hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball. Participants can also us a chair for seated exercises and standing support.

Led by certified instructors with specific training on senior fitness, SilverSneakers is designed to help prevent falls. Instructors are supportive and encouraging, showing modifications where needed.

Upon enrollment, participants will receive a gift basket that includes a membership discount, discount for our Bistro, Smoothie gift card, Essentials Salon gift card, and a reusable water bottle.
