Valentine’s Day at Canfield Place

The fun never ends at Canfield Place! We believe that special events, like Valentine’s Day, deserve to be celebrated with friends and residents. This year, our residents enjoyed making Valentine’s Day cards and crafts with a local Girl Scout Troupe followed by an evening of champagne and chocolate tasting. Learn more about how Canfield Place residents celebrated the spirit of love this Valentine’s Day!

At Canfield Place, we frequently host intergenerational activities, bringing together people across generations to work together, share stories, and enjoy each other’s presence. On February 12, Canfield Place residents were joined by a local Girl Scout troupe to make Valentine’s Day cards and crafts. Each resident was paired up with a Girl Scout and they spent the afternoon together crafting and laughing as they decorated door hangers, cards, and signs for loved ones. Everyone had a lot of fun and was proud to show off their creativity! Hugs were exchanged as the even ended and our residents were left with lasting, fun memories.

Following the craft, over 30 of our residents gathered in the Great Room for a champagne and chocolate tasting hosted by our program supervisor, Susan Christopher. Residents sampled three different champagnes with three different chocolates. While they sampled, Susan spoke about the background of each champagne and chocolate. Residents wrote down their notes on tastes and flavors from each one.

It was a fun and interactive program, and a great way to celebrate the day of love – indulging in delicious champagne and decadent chocolates!
