- The Village at Unity & The Hamlet
The Village at Unity independent living, assisted living, and memory care community strongly believes in giving back to the larger Rochester community through participation in various charitable organizations. We are always looking for ways to make a positive impact on the world around us. It’s this attitude towards service that led our food service team to Gilda’s Club.
Gilda’s Club offers program and support to families coping with cancer. Each month, the club offers 100 programs to help people connect with each other. Programs range from support groups and cooking classes to exercise programs, fun events, and lectures from experts in cancer and wellness. Our Village Food Service Team recently worked together to deliver and serve a three-course meal to 40 people in the prostate cancer support group at Gilda’s Club of Rochester.
The team from The Village at Unity included catering supervisor Erin Englert, sous chef James Klein, and dining services manager Rachael Leckinger who dined with the support group members and enjoyed an evening of laughter and camaraderie. They remarked,
“It was an amazing experience to see the immediate joy we brought to people going through a difficult time in their life.”
“It’s nice to give back to a local organization and see the difference we made.”
We’d love for you to stop by The Village at Unity and experience a delicious and seasonal meal on us! Meet our kind and caring residents and staff and join us as we give back to the local community.
